St Edmunds Primary School

School Day

The children can arrive any time from 8.30 for registration. Once your child has settled into school, we encourage them to be independent by hanging up their coat and putting their lunch box and book bag away themselves. There will be an activity waiting for them as they enter their classroom. The School Day finishes at 3.15pm.   Parents should wait in the school playground and the teacher will bring the children out to meet you.

lunches

Lunch payments should be made through Arbor at the beginning of every week (£11.50p for 1 week). Alternatively you can make a block payment per term. The children have a choice of main meal, jacket potato, cold option or a veggie option at a cost of £2.30 per day.

School dinners are free of charge for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children. Our KS1 children are also provided with a portion of fruit or vegetables for morning break.

Please provide your child with a bottle of water which they may access during the school day.

Please do not include any sweets or fizzy drinks in packed lunches.

Due to severe allergies among our students, we are a nut-free school. Please bear this in mind when providing your child with a packed lunch.

transport to and from school

We encourage all children to walk or cycle to school if safely possible as there is not a lot of roadside parking around the school.

If you do drive to school, please be considerate of driveways and road entrances. There is a small village car park not far from the school and we would encourage parents to use this if possible.

If you live more than three miles from School, you may qualify for free home-to-school transport. Please contact the Suffolk Passenger Transport team online at www.suffolkonboard.com/school-travel, by telephone on 0345 606 6173, or write to them at Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, IP1 2BX.
