Wow what a performance our KS2 class have given us this evening! With a packed audience, laughter and chanting in all the right places, children in Beech and Rowan did a fabulous job of keeping everyone entertained during their play and we are all very proud of them. If you missed it this evening or want to see it again there is one final chance tomorrow (Wednesday 1st) at 2pm.

Yesterday, pupils from St Edmunds took part in our Trusts 10year celebration and showed their great learning with a science presentation that made pupils and parents feel proud of our school. Feed back from families who attended: 'It was a lovely afternoon to see all the children's hard work' 'The schools Science performance was a great addition to all the presentations' 'Watching some of the children perform from the special schools was so heartwarming to witness'

Our Year 6 pupils have recently been to Crucial crew organised by the Mix and teaches children about various aspects of personal safety. The children enjoyed learning about staying safe online and how to perform CPR.

On Friday we had the wonderful Serena Grace visit to inspire future generations of St Edmunds athletes! The children enjoyed a brilliant assembly before spending time being active throughout the afternoon in workshops led by Serena.

Over the last 2 weeks we have been reading the story 'Billy's bucket' as part of our Talk For Writing learning. The children have been working together to create a large floor story map to help us retell the story. They have also been using their imaginations to think about what else Billy might see in his bucket. As part of our continuous provision the children have made some wonderful 'under the sea' art using loose parts and creating their own playdough fish. Next week we will be making up and writing our own version of 'Billy's bucket.'

Another great set of activities from our Year 5/6 Residential. The children have really enjoyed themselves. Some have even said they don't want to come back! We can't wait to see you all and hear about the fantastic adventures you've had.

The St Edmunds boys gave it their best in the water fight today at Bawdsey. After another delicious meal they are all ready to settle down for a good night's sleep before their final day of activities and all things fun

During our D.T. Lessons this half term, Beech Class are trying to answer the big question - How does packaging influence what we buy? Today we looked at cereal packaging. We started by dismantling the packaging to return the box to its original net design, then investigated and recorded what features were on each side. Finally, we finished the lesson by cutting out and assembling different net designs.

Update from Mrs Allmey: A great first day. The children tackled climbing and a challenging obstacle course. The day ended with a delicious dinner before the children settled down to their first sleep in the tents. The children went to sleep surprisingly quick and woke early in the morning to catch a beautiful sunrise with even a rainbow on the horizon. This morning two groups of children enjoyed abseiling (it was very high!). Followed by problem solving another group took part in archery and trapeze. Mrs Allmey has her fingers crossed for an early night tonight!
