Thank you for visiting our website. We hope the information available here will be useful to existing parents and carers, and to those who are looking to bring their children to St Edmunds Primary School and Nursery.

Rowan have settled in well. We have discussed what an ideal classroom would be like and collaborated to create a Rowan Tree of value. They have also enjoyed making their own paint from natural materials and are looking forward to creating cave paintings this week.

It has been a brilliant start to the new school year in Acorn Class. The children have started to settle in so well especially those who are new to St Edmunds. Yesterday we started to draw some amazing self portraits using mirrors to help us look where the different parts of our faces are. We also used natural objects outside to make faces too. Mrs Kendall, Miss Hardy and I are really looking forward to all the learning adventures we are going to have this year in Acorn Class.

Oak class have been very busy over the last few days, preparing for the year ahead. We have been revisiting classroom and school expectations as well as discussing what we want our classroom to be like! We have spent time getting to know the classroom and each other and agree that we are now ready for Monday when our timetable will begin! Here are some of the things that we have enjoyed this week...

Beech Class have had a great first day back to school, everyone has settled in well and it is lovely to have the children back in the classroom. We started the day getting to know each other by creating a chatterbox, then we used our place value knowledge to represent numbers both with written digits and concrete recourses. In the afternoon we talked about our emotions and created characters to use with our class zones of regulation, then visited the school library to enjoy some books.

Today we said goodbye to our incredible Year 6 children. What a privilege it has been to watch you grow from curious children into kind, confident and capable young people. You leave us with wonderful memories, lifelong friendships and a school community that is incredibly proud of everything you have achieved. As you begin the next chapter, remember that success is found in your kindness, your courage to try something new, your resilience when things don't go to plan and your willingness to help others. Dream big, work hard, stay curious and never stop believing in yourselves. We know you will achieve amazing things. To our families, thank you for trusting us to be part of your children's journey. It has been a privilege to work alongside you.

Oak class had a fantastic end of term class trip to Bewilderwood. The children had an absolute blast and were a credit to the school and their families and should be extremely proud of themselves. It was lovely to spend time together out of the classroom and give children the opportunity to participate in the activities, taking risks and for many being curious about the environment that they were in. It really was a truly great day!

Beech Class have had a fantastic time at the Hippodrome! They have seen some incredible things and had huge amounts of fun! We are so proud to be able to give children opportunities like these to be a part of so many amazing experiences!

Its Sports Day today! Please come and join us to celebrate the children take part in some races and help raise some funds for the HPTA
